January update

01 Feb, 2026

The two rare things of our entire life: time and health.

# Good things

Keep working hard on my business idea

I got the idea at the start of December 2025. I had some difficulties when I was starting the implementation, but luckily I still found a way to overcome the problem. It’s not perfect, but it does work. It didn’t take too much time to build the POC, and I also started building the landing website at the same time. Then I traveled to Southeast Asia. I think I still made some progress in the beginning of my holidays, but after Chiang Mai I didn’t really push the progress, even when I got back to Japan.

It did take me some time to tell myself I gotta keep working on this project. But I’m grateful to myself that I’m 100% concentrating after 01/15. I’ve done so many things, from improving the backend structure to completing the landing page and the doc site. I also spent lots of time on the UI design and a cool screen demo. And I finally submitted the extension to the Chrome store on 01/30. Hope everything goes smoothly.

"The effort you’ve made won’t be nothing."

I heard and liked these words when listening to a podcast this month. It reminds me of the hard work I’ve done in the past years, from running my personal studio and working part time for startups.

Without these past experiences, I don’t really think I could build the whole thing this time. AI does help a lot, but my past experiences are what make it possible for me to work with AI effectively and efficiently.

# Bad things

I have to use strong words to remind myself what I can definitely do better.

I can do better on balance. I still have a goal to pass the Japanese exam. I think, like exercising, I should practice constantly. There is no excuse to always say I’m busy with work. Just keep progressing on everything. Do not just push one thing so much. Rushing doesn’t guarantee the success.

Also, every weekend like now, I should leave some time to review what I’ve done.

# Next

It’s been 2 months again that I haven’t talked to my parents. Maybe I shouldn’t do that.

Something came up at home, and I’m flying back to Taiwan. I hate that I’m limited by the job, my time, my location. I can’t be with my family immediately when they need me.
